What better way to start the Brave and Balmy 10km races than at Ocean on Exmouth’s beautiful seafront? Runners of all levels can take on one, or both of these unique races covering mixed terrain; tarmac, coastal paths and sand (and maybe the sea if the tide beats you!).
The 6.3 mile stunning but brutal course takes runners from outside the National Trust house at Coleton Fishacre staright up the driveway for a serious climb to start. From here you will change onto trails for s steady decent towards the coast path ( enjoy this piece of easy running, it doesn’t last long!. Once on the coast path you will be rewarded during various climbs and falls by stunning sea and coastal views before dropping down to the WW2 Gun Batteries at Froward Point. A long climb up away from the coast where you will be tempted to stop and look at the views behind is followed by a drop back down through the fields that brings you to the final stretch up through the gardens of one of the top five National Trust gardens in the UK (you can always appreciate on your cool down!). Certainly a beautiful one for your spectators even if it kills you!
